Sometimes the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion just takes over us and we just feel outright tired. We become physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually tired. We allow ourselves to carry unnecessary burdens and become overwhelmed with struggling, trying, learning, and fighting. The Holy Spirit is there to give us rest, strengthen us, and carry us. However, more times than not when life exhausts us, we forget to find that necessary resting place we have been blessed with.

We rest in the Holy Spirit by giving our burdens to God, maintaining a healthy intimate relationship with God, and by actively reading the Word of God. Those things will not make life any easier or wipe away all of our troubles; but it will provide us with the tools we need to fight and win. When we forget to rest in the Holy Spirit we tend to focus on our circumstances and lose sight of the promises of God. That is exactly what the enemy wants us to do. He wants us so distracted and caught up in our struggles that we cannot hear when God is speaking. We remain stagnant and miserable in a place that God has no desire for us to be.

Although it is quite easy to give up and decide to drown in our own sorrows (which is exactly what the enemy wants us to do) we must remain vigilant and hopeful at all times. It is imperative to remain persistent and prayerful. Resting in the Holy Spirit regularly provides us with the armor we need to fight and win. Ephesians 6:10-11 instructs us to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”.

The Word of God tells us in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. When we keep our focus on Him, when we rest in Him, everything concerning us will just fall into its rightful place. There will be no need to worry about family, relationships, finances, or careers; absolutely nothing. When we are focused on Him, when we are respectfully resting in Him doing the will for which he purposely created us for; he is already taking care of everything concerning us.

Personal Message from J’LaQueenia
Isaiah 61:3 instructs us to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. God has already given us the power to shift our atmosphere. We must continue to praise and thank him in advance and let our circumstances know they will not defeat us. We have to remember to cast out any evil thing that may try to come against us in the name of Jesus on a daily basis. The Word of God tells us all we sow in tears we shall reap in joy! There is no reason to be discouraged. The lesson of struggles will soon turn into a life of fulfillment. As long as we stay in the fight and ensure we are getting the proper spiritual rest (as well as physical rest) we will surely win.
