Spring into FashAction!
Spring into FashAction!
Now that the sun has finally decided to show its face, I guess it’s about time that we got excited about 2014 Spring/Summer fashion! This year there is a lot to be happy about. Here are some of the trends that I am looking forward to witnessing and being a willing victim of.
Ethnic prints are making a huge impact on this seasons clothing. The distinctive look of tribal influenced prints is one that isn’t hard to miss. Don’t get too overzealous with this trend. Try a tribal print mini with a pair of basic heels and shirt and you’ll have just the right amount of ethnicity in your life.
Accessories are a girl’s best friend and this trend will be no exception. The ear cuff is the perfect POP to your pretty up-do without taking over your entire look. It adds just the right amount of accessory to any outfit, not to mention it lets you off the hook from trying to find that missing earring of yours. Pair an elaborate ear cuff with a modest look to give it the pizzazz that it needs to come alive!
Rose gold is one of my favorite hues! This color is one that can be easily paired with many other colors. It has the capacity to transition through all four seasons, as it looks good with any shade. It can be dressed up or down and adds just the right splash of tint to any outfit. I am completely obsessed with rose gold and pink together!!!!!
Going for the feminine and flirty look? If so, pastels are definitely your friend this season. They pair so well with white, the go to color of summer. Pastels are great when complimented with something less feminine. Try a silk pastel pink top, a pair of camouflage bottoms with nude shoes for a FEMasculine (YES, I did totally JUST make up this word!) look this summer.
Boxy/structured cropped jackets
Picture this…a white tank, a pair of boyfriend jeans and a pair of sexy heels… what’s missing? A cute little cropped jacket! This trend is sure to add the final touch to any relaxed outfit this season. The boxy look gives a touch of structure to any comfortable look.
If you want to glam it up, try a boxy cropped jacket, a tulle skirt and a pair of heels.
Long gone are the days when floral patterns were considered to only be tablecloth worthy. This trend has taken over for the spring/summer. From hats to shoes, everyone is loving flower power. I currently have on my radar a pair of pastel, floral print cuffed shorts from New York & Company. I plan to wear them with a white tank, a white blazer and a pair of silver shoes. Be careful not to overdo it though! Too many flowers can be a fashion faux pas.
Denim, Denim, Denim
Many years have passed since I’ve worn denim on denim and I never thought I would see it make a comeback. From the sidewalk to the runway it’s been spotted everywhere this season! I mean, once one of the Kardashians is wearing it, you know its official, right?! I have to admit, I am actually excited to try this trend out again. I am looking forward to trying the skinny jean with button up jean tank and heels combo.
Until next time… STAY AMBITIOUS AND FASHIONABLE !
