Top 3 Natural Hair Products to Gift

If you have a natural hair wearing lady in your life then you have a great opportunity to make them feel truly loved this year for Valentine’s Day! Anyone who is acquainted with natural hair wearing folks knows we like our products. And even those of us who aren’t product junkies, we occasionally like to pamper ourselves with something new. So with that in mind, I’ve written a simple guide on what products to gift the natural in your life.

Hair Gifting Rules for any product you buy:

  1. Says natural hair somewhere on the bottle
  2. From a Black owned business
  3. The top 5 ingredients are something you’ve heard of or can be pronounced.

Top 3 Types of Products to Gift

Beginner Gifter: Hair & Skin or Dual Purpose Products

The safest and best bet product would be a whipped butter. If they don’t like it for their hair, they can easily use it for their skin. Be sure to seek whipped butters that only consist of butter and oil so you can ensure that it will be safe for hair and skin.

Intermediate Gifter: Scented Shampoos

A nicely scented shampoo is a great choice for most naturals. Bonus if you know their favorite scentr. A shampoo  will also last them a long time since most people with natural hair do not wash their hair daily. Currently, shampoo bars are popular. It’s not only a useful item but is sort of novel and fun. I love the “Honey I Shrunk the Frizz” Shampoo Bar by Soultanicals. Fun name and fun to use. Check out a review of this product below.

Advanced Gifter: Look for Leave-ins

Cream

Anything that says cream is better served by those who have thick, coarse hair. By thick I mean a lot of hair strands and by coarse I mean each strand is wide. This type of hair typically twists and braids well. If their hair tends to dry out quickly, a product with cream in it will come in handy.

Detangler

Products with the word detangler in them are typically lighter and have slip so those with finer hair can use them as well as people with coaser hair. A good detangler is a game changer for any natural that tends to get tangled hair.
